Today the BT Broadband checker shows my Whitchurch phone number as having FTTP available. Now to decide whether to stay with my current provider or to switch elsewhere.

I moved TO PN with the specific intention of switching to the 80/20 trial. Haven't regretted it so far. I don't need / want all the extras that BT provide, and 80/20 is plenty (for now)

Still nothing for us.
In fact, about2 weeks ago my router lost connection, then started syncing at about 6Mb/s rather than the 13Mb/s I was getting previously.
I seem to be going backwards!

Where are you in Whitchurch? What does the BT Checker say for your line? As I understand it they have still not pulled the fibre for Oaklands road and there are some exchange only lines that still need a solution which is pending.

Still nothing from Hartley Meadow. The best speeds I'm getting are from "WBC ADSL 2+" and "WBC ADSL 2+ Annex M"

Sorry for the slow reply, we're near the end of KP (reluctant to post a real address on an open forum). The last work I saw was Openreach installing something half way down the road (probably a PON).

The checker says ADSL2+ from Cabinet 2, so I presume I'm not an exchange-only line.

April is here, I've heard nothing from BT except sales leaflets through the door, which is a bit rich as they're the bottleneck.

Are we any closer to knowing when Cabinet 2 goes live with Fibre-optic? I haven't been following it recently

Some news just in today - We're getting FTTP, our contact says, "they have found a problem with regards the manifold and duct", so it won't be immediate. I suspect this applies to this end of KP, don't know about Hartley Meadows.

Borough Cllr Keith Watts has the contact, I'd email him on his council email, you can look it up at B&DBC.

The Checker lists us as Cabinet 2, so the same may apply to you.

Hartley Meadows is ready to rock and roll, have fitted 2 FTTP services there in the last month.
