HG612 3B vs 2B

Hi all,

So I've finally had enough of my SR102 from sky and am planning to move to a separate modem/router approach.

The modem I'm looking at is the HG612 but I'm a bit confused about the versions. 3B is the version to go for it seems, but I see a lot of 2Bs floating around too, some of which are more accessible for me to purchase.

Is the difference really just the PSU supplied?
Can I buy a 2B and upgrade its PSU?
Is a used 2B potentially less reliable than a used 3B?
Should I hold out for a 3B?

The 2B has a problem with overheating, that the 3B addressed.
