FTTP Pricing under BDUK

Hi all.

Im due to get FTTP in the next phase of the Scottish Governments BDUK rollout. Ive been speaking with ISP's who are mostly all saying they don't offer a FTTP package due to cost. I'm aware that under BDUK rules that if OR deliver FTTP and you cannot get FTTC then it costs no more than GEA - FTTC.

Does anyone have any links to BT OR docs that state this? so I can pass onto the ISP

O.K just been informed by Aquiss that the will NOT provide service where FTTP is in order. Need to find a good ISP that will do FTTP

native GEA-FTTP is the same price as GEA-FTTC if you order the same speed package. e.g. a 40 or 80 Meg service. The faster services obviously cost more.

The GEA-FTTP pricing from Openreach or more likely BT Wholesale price lists are available to the ISP and they should be well aware of them and they will have made a decision to not supply GEA-FTTP.

Use the checker http://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html and once option of FTTP at 330 Mbps appears on your number, go back to the ISP checkers and you will find some change what they offer you e.g. BT Infinity adds their 3 & 4 options to the range of Infinity offered.

As things stand only BT Retail really sell to the average consumer. PlusNet too, but you have to be an existing ADSL customer.

If happy with SME pricing then Claranet http://www.thinkbroadband.com/isp/clara.html who we know sell the 330 option as we have seen people use it on speed tests in an FTTP street

How did you find out you were getting FTTP?
