Another difference in areas is that there's no Virgin media coverage at all here in the whole town. Also these cabinets are all part of the local BDUK rollout, which seems to be covering places that maybe would have been ignored by BT elsewhere.

"Fibre availability map revamped to show cabinet level results where an exchange area is enabled." https://twitter.com/Openreach_news

Is anyone actually seeing "cabinet level results" with their postcode search in an enabled area?
I take that to mean it should let you know how many fibre connections there are in your specific cabinet, and therefore how many still left for future connections?

Is that not what Openreach mean? Mine just says "AO" Accepting Orders.

I was expecting more when they announced this!

I could be wrong - but the "extra detail" just means that rather than saying a whole exchange has FTTC available the results will now be for your location. You don't actually see any more details.

As I said I could be wrong... smile

Cheers b4dger,

No I'm sure your not wrong, I thought I was maybe expecting too much to get all that info. I misunderstood what they meant by cabinet level rather than exchange level detail. I was thinking it was going to say something like 38 fibre connections used, 62 left till capacity full smile That would be interesting to see smile

Must be missing something. The site doesn't show any additional information.

You know a cabinet is full or needs line cards when the checkers remove the available, and idea is the retailers can see this information and should communicate it.

Openreach is learning the retailers want to provide service and take our money, but not do ALL the consumer handling and want Openreach to do more I believe. While also campaigning for Openreach pricing to come down.

Me neither. Furthermore, my postcode doesn't even put the icon over the correct area. Can't really blame OR for that though!
