profile does not match sync

I've had an oddity recently, and wondered if anyone can suggest why? Not a worry, just interested to know what is going on.

My sync rate has been 72375 for some time, with matching profile 70.06

DLM decided to lower my rate an put me on interleaved; so now I am on sync rate of 66259.
I'm not quite sure why and irritating but not a disaster for me (especially as I am due to move to .Pluset 40/20 in a few days).
However, my profile has remained unchanged.
I have seen that happen sometimes where modem resync was fast enough not to be noticed by the PPPoE session.
I explicitly disconnected and reconnected the PPPoE session from the HH3 router, and the profile is still 70.06.

Any suggestions why the profile should fail to track the sync rate?
Bug in updating the BT profile reporting system seems most likely.

Is the stuck profile in the BT Wholesale site, or what PlusNet display?

The stuck profile is as reported by 'Further Diagnostics' of http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/
The sync speed is as reported by HG612.

I haven't quite made the move to PlusNet; due at the end of the week. I'm not worried about the drop in download speed now as I am dropping speed to 40 Mbps on the move anyway (the extra download speed isn't worth the extra cost for me, and I keep the higher upload speed).

I'm guessing that the Plusnet move won't even force a resync at the cabinet<->modem connection; is that correct?

No, plusnet will not force resync at the fibre cabinet. Need an engineer to go to the fibre cabinet to reset dlm but I do believe that plusnet will charge u.

Probably not, it would be nice if it did and forced a DLM reset as well, but I don't think it does.

It's done by the engineer making a phone call, not visiting the cabinet. This will only normally happen if you have a fault that requires an engineer visit.

I dunno how much it charge u to reset dlm from an engineer as I haven't done it because my FTTC isn't on DLM yet.

There is no charge for resetting DLM as such; there is a charge to the ISP if an engineer visit is called for a fault and the cause is found to be internal. The ISP then may or may not pass this on to the customer.

P.S. All FTTC is "on" DLM.

Are you getting the sync from the GUI or telnet? If telnet, you are looking at the "Bearer" line not the "Max" line I hope. (Max can be below Bearer).

Thanks for the comments. I'm not too concerned about getting the DLM reset. I was more interested in why the lowered sync wasn't noticed in the profile.

I suspect the lowered sync is DLM doing its job properly; if there is a problem or the line less good that it was DLM would only jump in again after a bit, and if the issue was temporary then DLM will (eventually) restore things. I'm one of the few that thinks that DLM does a reasonable job; despite its irritations.

I'm using the 'path' on the telnet interface. My modem is in the unlocked/updated state where telnet works but not the GUI. I did indeed see a situation for a few months where my max was below the path; the line was slightly degrading and lowering the max. but not degrading enough to force a resync.
