Openreach Lie

Openreach lied to me,

They advised me that work for FTTC on 20th September. Nothin has happened. So will I have to wait longer or are they just making lies up.

According to the Go East Sussex website the Dane Hill exchange is confirmed for delivery in Phase 2 between Sep 2014 and Dec 2014 but it also says cabinets 2 and 3 require more work and are scheduled for a later phase.

Cabinet 4 is the only one that's being upgraded in Phase 2.

I think you're being a bit silly there and taking things too personally. BTor don't have enough interest in you to want to lie. They gave you what they thought was a likely start date. And it slipped. Welcome to the real world and the difficulty of managing large and complex projects.

...and it's the reason why BTOR are becoming reluctant to commit to any date for anything.
When problems arise and dates slip then some people seems to get over-upset.
such is life with infrastructure project where all sorts of issues arise en-route.

Anyway I'm delighted the OP is getting FTTC albeit somewhat delayed ( paid for out of my taxes)
Meanwhile I along with others on this forum have been told that my cabinet is not being upgraded under BDUK to FTTC. So that is no FTTC either tomorrow, next year or unless more funds are found from somewhere to pay for it (as it was explained to me) maybe ever.

So I wish the OP well when FTTC finally arrives for them.

Our FTTC cabinet was in place many months (maybe over a year, I can't remember) before the work to connect everything up and run the fibre was carried out. And completion was about 9 months after the intial date they gave to go live. As is the way with such things

Power and blowing the fibre can and sadly in your case cause delays ..

It took 8 months from my cab being installed to being able to order, apparently a lot of the ducts hadn't been opened in around 30 years and many had collapsed and needed clearing
