Thanks Y. Does the Zyxel work "out of the box" i.e. has it been completely un-Eire telecommm'd and turned back into a Zyxel 8324 or do you have to "fiddle"?

I've been doing some reading and I'm on for cracking a 612 but I read the post regarding the Zyxel on the Zen forum and my ears were bleeding by the end

I'm using a Billion 7800N on ADSL and it has a VLAN (ELAN?) port so my plan has been to use that and acquire a replacement for it at some point. I have found it useful to have a spare on a number of occasions.

Hi John,

My understanding is that it will be entirely unbranded (the seller will do this prior to dispatch) however, it does still need configuring for vDSL. The guide to do this is on the Kitz forums.

I'm going to use it on ADSL to begin with as vDSL isn't coming until December (hopefully). I currently use a Billion 7800N that has performed like a champ thus far. I will most likely be using the Zyxel as a modem in bridge mode with the Billion on router duties in the future.
And that sounds like what you're planning too and it should work well. The Billion will use it's eWAN port in this configuration, to receive/ transmit data from/ to the Zyxel/ HG612.
