Take the faceplates off and then take some pictures of what you can see, concentrating on the various wires, any crimps and connections to various IDC terminal.

Host the images on Photobucket, Flikr or similar and link to them

Can you take the front off the original master socket downstairs please and take a picture of that.

Looks like a bum install to me.

its the same with the 2 blues, that was done when we moved here to give an extension upstairs, ran wire up wall as they were being re plastered , I am positive the engineer just fitted a new filtered plate upstairs with touching any wires .

Can you post pictures of all the connections downstairs please?
