I do not know where this costs come from. I an in a native FTTP area. The manifold is in a new pavement chamber 12m from my front door on the other side of the road in a cup-de-sac. However the excess construction charge due to needing the current armoured copper cable overplayed with ducting for the fibre was £4200.

I believe Batboy was giving the list price costs for FTTPoD. FTTPoD has very different cost structure to native FTTP.

FTTPoD will be at least what Batboy said plus potential excess construction charges if any were hit. Not a cheap solution for those that can't get native FTTP (ie, most of the country). BT are purposefully pricing it out of the residential market.

They are trying to protect their ever decreasing leased line market. Crazy and stupid by bt tbh .

Sadly wish FTTPoD cost around £20 a month like FTTC. But I can understand it cost more than that plus installation charge!

If it helps, the single solitary FTTPoD I've installed was on behalf of BT Business.
