BT open reach installation

I moved into a new house (new build) about 4 months ago, it took a while for anyone to let us know if we were getting fibre optic, then one day I saw an engineer in the street and he said he would be able to install it that afternoon.

He got the boxes installed and told me he still needed to do something and mentioned blowing the fibre or something like that.

About 3 weeks later they came around to finish the install, he told me by the next day there should be 2 green lights on after the server has established a connection and that would be it done.

A week later and the lights are the same, one green light for the power and a red light, I can't phone them as there is no number for home customers, and i don't seem to have anyone to ask.

So i really don't know what to do next.

Sounds very ood, tried contacting your ISP?

They ask you to be infront of your computer when you ring.

Which provider? Sounds very odd to not have a number for home customers when selling to consumers

Is this an FTTP link, where the fibre comes right to the house?

Have you got ordinary broadband at the moment? If so, who with?

We have not ordered the broadband from a supplier, they seem to be just connecting the whole neighbourhood and once it's installed we can choose our provider. I really have no idea who to contact about it

Well that is NOT how Openreach operate, they only install the active kit with flashing lights once you have ordered the service.

Need to know more about this neighbourhood, is sounding more like an altnet and NOT openreach

BT OR do not work like that ! we get the work sent to us on a works laptop or works iPhone.

As others have said, that's not how Openreach work. It sounds like you have not ordered any service from any service provider. Until this happens, you'll get nowt.
