Thank you for your input Ribble, it is much appreciated. smile

Hopefully when the cable works are done in that area, we should also get our link up at the Torrington exchange then... Or at least I hope so. (I'm not technically literate when it comes to such things, so I just take a best guess lol.)
Obviously, it is frustrating with all the waiting, but I know that things sometimes get in the way when the economic factors come in to play, and the engineers have no options but to do as they're told...

Now it's just a case of wait and see, and hope that the weather doesn't delay things further over the next few months. I know things can get a bit wet and soggy in that area, so I don't envy the work crews, but I am thankful to them when they keep the strings that connect the bean tins from getting too soggy! smile

I had a call back from BT - they said to contact my internet provider, and were unable to provide any further information. Standard response. frown

And we all know what the response from any ISP is going to be... "You'd need to ask BT, they are the ones who own the network."

Oh well, thank you for trying. smile

And they would be wrong as Openreach run the network and are responsible for the roll-out. This is in conjunction with the councils when its a BDUK project area

My apologies, that was my term. I suppose like many members of the public, I still don't make a proper distinction between Openreach and BT.
Heck, I still think in terms of British Telecom most of the time, a name that they have eschewed for quite some time now I believe...

The only time I really make the distinction is when seeing the engineers out and about; I have respect for the engineers, because they are the face that is most often seen by the public, they are the ones who take the majority of the flack, yet they are the ones who don't get to decide how things are going to be regarding the state of the network.

Their site is awful, All the exchange dates by mine were out by a lot, One area it currently has been updated to say a SURVEY is due to be done in the area from May 2015 (or something like that), A BDUK cabinet is down to be installed in the area for that postcode within the next 2 weeks on roadworks.org, Why would a cabinet be put in if a survey hadn't been done. Also my exchange last year said that it was under review and no survey had been done yet there were fibre cabs flying up from the BDUK.

So as you say hopefully it's a error.

We have just had that situation down here in Aveton Gifford. The survey was due to begin this month yet a cabinet is currently being installed. The newly updated CDS map shows a service date for it of October 2015. Which may slip, of course.
