That would make sense as it is more like a trench now rather than just a hole, looks to be leading around the corner towards the other hole, around a telephone box. Trying not to get too excited as I know it could still be ages and there are no road works listed online yet.

Coming to an exchange, does not necessarily mean coming to you. In my daughter's case, although exchange is March 2015, it is extremely unlikely her property will get fibre. ADSL is non existant. In any case no funding would be available until 2017 to cover.
Fortunately Xwavia cover the area by Wifi, at a price that is competitive to any ISP
Unfortunately a phone line is necessary as Mobile is patchy in Powys and expensive for others to ring. Maybe this will change.

Fortunately my cabinet should be upgraded. I have had a email from Superfast Wales saying it is included and the last few days work has being going on. So they have finished the digging and it's all filled back in, the patched tarmac leads right up to the chamber in front of the cabinet, so hopefully soon there will be a new cab but I know it could still be some time before they run the fibre to it.
