BDUK cab, checker dates appeared...

Hi All,

My cab is being upgraded as part of the BDUK scheme. (Lane End, Cab 2)

Today a followthatpage email showed me that estimated speeds had appeared, along with an availability date of 31st Dec 2014.

Is this date of any more relevance that the commercial roll out dates (that keep shifting)?

I'm wondering if it means the cab is essentially ready?

Yeah, that's where I saw the date and estimated speeds.

Ribble has given me hope, but I'm curious what other BDUK cabinet folk have experienced in terms of the data being met, or beaten (or missed).

When the first Central Beds BDUK cabinet went live, I discovered it by running some checker tests on lines I suspected were served from it. I was able to commence a dummy order with several ISPs, entering the relevant phone numbers took me to the "Yes you can get fibre which package would you like?" step.

I mentioned this to the relevant person at the council and was told that the cabinet wasn't live so it wouldn't show up yet. I sent a screen shot of the dummy order and got a "How the hell did you do that?" response.

If only it had been my own cabinet...

So now ConnectedCounties are saying the cab is live, and SamKnows says FTTC is available.

However, the checker just says end of the year. Any idea when the checker will update.

After so long waiting, I'm just a little bit impatient

Time to order then Mine went live on the 27th (got installed during mid to late sept) and i ordered that day, install is now in jan. so you may need a bit of patience
