fiber optic coming????????

hi all seen a new cabinet go in next to old one can any one check the latest its in blaenavon cabinet 2 post code np49pg cheers

any one on here with inside information?

Someone will be able to tell you for sure, but if the new cabinet is green, looks different to a PCP, and has vents in it, then yes, it's coming.

Put your phone number into the checker below and see if it indicates that fibre is coming soon (the postcode checker, which is less precise, says nothing about fibre for you... that doesn't necessarily mean that it's not coming, though):

You are connected to cabinet number 2 on the Blaenavon exchange.

Work has started to install the fibre network in this exchange area. The first cabinets on the Blaenavon exchange area will be upgraded by the end of March, 2015.

I don't know why adslmax has started making all of these posts which could be misleading lately (and containing already known info); it won't necessarily be done by the end of March. BT put in placeholder dates in quarterly stages, and if they aren't met, they just shift the placeholder date along by 3 months. If you'd have asked this question towards the end of last month, it's possible you'd be expecting it by the 31st December.

However, the fact that you've actually seen some fibre work being done is promising. Just don't bet your mortgage on it

I susspect there maybe a new PCP to replace the old one and the lines moved over in the near future

thanks for the reply's what is a pcp? the new one next to the old one has vents in it any good links were to read more on when fibre optic is coming?

PCP - Primary Connection Point. A phone cabinet. The vents however suggest an FTTC cabinet. Unless it's a combo cabinet - I believe there are some in Northern Ireland. Where are you? (Edit - Welsh Wales I see).
