Unused SNRM

Haven't seen this asked before, but I'm sure it has been.

On FTTC, if you have "spare" SNRM" in either the upstream, or downstream direction, can it be used to speed up the other direction?

For example, I have 9db on the downstream, and 15db on the upstream. If the downstream fell below 6db, could it pinch some margin from the upstream?

No, would cause havoc with other lines due to power levels and cross talk

NO.

What you are suggesting would actually mean taking unused tones from the Upstream and reallocating them to Downstream - that is not permitted.
