You're right.
CDS emailed me back, and then I got CDS to send an email to Openreach to try and get some timescales .. but no luck, no response - and this was 6 days ago frown

I have actually had a reply from CDS - telling me that they can't do anything and don't know anything, because I'm in an area covered by a commercial (non)provider, that can sit on its hands till the end of 2016 after which who knows what will or won't happen. It is so frustrating that there's no way to contact whatever this mythical provider is and the publicly-funded body set up to promote high speed broadband can do absolutely zilch. To make matters worse, I can see properties a few hundred metres away, between me and the centre of Okehampton, that are now in a position to place orders.

Reply from Openreach via CDS reporting on status of Torrington Cabs.

------

"Weve received a reply from Openreach and they have got roadworks booked in for January and February. At this time they cannot commit to the cabinets being activated before October but are hoping to get them ready before this time.

Keep an eye on the website and Twitter and well post any updates when we get them."

-----

I hope it's 8 months before that time smile

More BT work at new st / whites lane junction in Torrington this morning.

It wasn't listed on Roadworks.org, and they ran some cable down it.

My apologies for not responding much sooner; life priorities and all...

Hopefully that's a good sign, and things will be sorted sooner rather than later. smile

We can only hope...

As I was walking through the town, I happened to hear a beautiful sound... The gentle hum of a cooling fan as I walked past cabinet 3!

Hopefully we're nearly ready to go! laugh

I don't know how much longer it will be, but the cabinet obviously has power, and something is running in there now. smile

Any more updates on this?
BT's Openreach website says that its still not ready yet.
Also the BT Infinity checker says its not ready either.
I'm guessing October 2015 will be the time its updated, hopefully before that!

I don't have a clue now... I walked past cabinet 3 again this morning, and it no longer sounds like the fan is running.

The chances of getting any information seems close to nil it would seem. The responses from CDS are pretty much useless, and the time-scales quoted just seem to be extended again and again.

I honestly can't imagine any more roadworks that need to be done to provision Torrington. Looking on roadworks.org a year ahead doesn't really show anything. WOuld love to hear if anyone else has any ideas. CDS got hardly any detailed feedback from BT back in january.. I think that the work needed was done in Feb. I've given up trying to predict anything now, I shall just keep checking the status updates.
