Re: Process to enable lines in a Fibre enabled cabinet?

It goes up to number 16. The address checker says fibre is available but the telephone number check in my previous post, says it is on cabinet 7 but fibre not available??

Your previous post seemed to refer to postcodes, not phone number?

The pure postcode checker is not reliable. You have to use either the phone number option of the address option. There are two ways to use the address checker - one is the actual address, the other is to enter just the postcode on the address checker and you get a drop-down list that you can go through one at a time checking each one.

If your phone number in that checker says you can, then you can! If it doesn't, then either you are too far from the cabinet, (do you know where it is?), or there is a database error.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 57.2/15.3Mbps @ 600m. - IPv4BQM IPv6BQM

The phone number checker says this:

Telephone Number xxxxxxxxxxx on Exchange HIGHCLERE is served by Cabinet 7

ADSL Max Up to 8 -- 7 to 8 Available
Fixed Rate 2 -- -- Available
Other Offerings
Fibre Multicast -- -- -- Available

The address checker says this:

Address x PADDOCK END, WOOLTON HILL, NEWBURY, RG20 9TJ on Exchange HIGHCLERE is served by Cabinet 7

High Low High Low
FTTC Range A (Clean) 77.6 57.9 20 18.9 -- Available
FTTC Range B (Impacted) 70 41.3 20 12.2 -- Available

ADSL Max Up to 5.5 -- 4.5 to 8 Available
Fixed Rate 2 -- -- Available
Other Offerings
Fibre Multicast -- -- -- Available

Is there a way to rectify this?

Presuming that the telephone number is a WLR number, and has not just recently been subject to a house move then its email me [email protected] and will pester someone to poke a database or two.

Need telephone number and address affected of course.

So the address option thinks you are close, but the two sets of ADSL Max estimates very different. Errrm - how long has the phone line/number been installed? That can take a few days to update if it is new. (It gives the data for the previous premises it was used at).

Unfortunately, if that's the case it would be the address checker that is right frown.

Re getting anomalies fixed, there are several people here better able to advise than I. I expect some will be along today or tomorrow.

Edit - I see Andrew posted while I was messing about typing smile.
