I honestly can't imagine any more roadworks that need to be done to provision Torrington. Looking on roadworks.org a year ahead doesn't really show anything. WOuld love to hear if anyone else has any ideas. CDS got hardly any detailed feedback from BT back in january.. I think that the work needed was done in Feb. I've given up trying to predict anything now, I shall just keep checking the status updates.

Not everything is put on roadworks right away, I have seen some pop up a couple of months early which is given a status of "Advanced planning" but nothing later than that.
Its not that it doesn't happen, its just that it would be too much work to do if something was delayed and had to be changed all the time, which is why I think they try not to submit stuff until they have a rough idea of the correct dates.

So you may go a few month without any info and then work will pop up to be done in the next few weeks.

oooOOH! Well done, that's the most promising thing I've heard in ages!

I'm just hoping that it's a conservative guess by them, and it does turn out to be much sooner, rather than an optimistic guess that turns out to be wrong the other way, lol.

I wasn't actually expecting any kind of answer really, other than the usual vague, "by October," so I'm hoping it's a sign that genuine progress has been made.
Each time I've walked past cabinet 3 lately though, I've been able to hear the cooling fan running, so I know (or at least think, and hope...) that there can't be too much more to do.
 

I see we now have new roadworks listed on the www.roadworks.org site, for the 8th to 11th of March, along Calf Street and New Street.

"Cable provision in duct to Provide Service (no excavation) Rolling traffic lights. Works to be carried out on SUNDAY 8th"

Hopefully it's a sign of good things to come...

Chatting to the workers the reason for all the delay is that the various ducts have been blocked/collapsed and they have been busy clearing them.

Good for Torrington! FTTC is getting ever closer for you!

Now; all I want is for LANGTREE Exchange Cabinet 3 to get its upgrade etc. then I'll be very happy indeed

Just for curiosities sake, where is cab 1?
 

Cab 1 is just past the exchange against the church yard wall, (I'm connected to it) the huwai fiber cabinet connected to it is the green one at the very top of school lane.

You can see it in the photo i posted here about a year ago. I then believe the polypipe / access following cab 1 runs to a street access hole at the top of whites lane, and then runs down towards cabinet 3 as well as continuing forward.
