Can't answer directly, but I have the Fritz 3390, with G-INP enabed, and my speeds improved.

Maybe give Fritz support a try?

what cabinet are you connected to mate ?mine is a ECI was also thinking of buying a
TP Link TD-W9980 seem to work well with ECI cabinets due to same chip set

They don't as yet support G.inp , so i would wait and see ,as it may become a door stop , assuming your on FTTC

does anyone know if its possible to put a custom firmware on this model or maybe someone has done there own custom image
