It's one of the small Huawei cabs. ECI cabs have more ventilation slots on the front.

With that in mind, is there any noticeable speed variation in having a matched Cab + Modem or can they be unmatched with no real issue.

There is currently an issue with G.INP - it's enabled on Huawei cabs but not on ECI cabs. Huawei modems work well with G.INP on the latest firmware. ECI modems don't support G.INP.

That may or may not be cabinet 71, its a good chance it is, but I think another cabinet serves near that area, don't recall the number.

Also that wide cabinet on the left of your pictures seems to look like the new PCP Cabinets, we recently had our old one replace to one of those.

Also found cabinet 27

*** Update ***
Nope you maybe right and Andrew already said where cabinet 87 is which was what I thought it was, its just that for that distance you should be getting higher speeds than that, unless the copper lines go half a mile down the road and back on itself to that location.

The cabinet on the left on the picture is the current PCP model in use. They are using up the stocks of those as there's a new model that's finished trials and is ready to go so they should start showing up soon.

It surely isn't? The newer pressed steel one has been in use for about 10 years, and intermittently in the 80s they trialled the fibreglass/foam thing. We are both talking about the PCP in that photo, aren't we? There is an older PCP which is pre-current, but is still newer than that one.

Edit: The "cabinet 3" picture in the first post is the "pre-current" one I'm talking about. None feature the current one, which has been around for absolutely ages now.

Yes, that cabinet 3 and 27 are all the old ones, our one was recently upgraded also shown here: Old PCP & New PCP Cabinets and you can see our old one is on the left and the new one is on the right, the new one was installed just before xmas.

As far as I know they are both still there, not too sure if we have all been moved over to the new one yet.

No I wasn't talking about that photo. I was talking about the other photo of the PCP that looks brand new

ECI cabinet

Sorry Fred but that is a small Huawei equipped cabinet, which contains a SmartAX MA5616 MSAN.

100% Linux and, previously, Unix.
