Is this an EO property?

A buddy of mine has just moved into a new property, and is in the process of getting phoneline and broadband sorted. There is no current telephone number, so we have checked the BT checker site using the address checker.

The details are xxxxxxxx - but this doesn't give any CAB information - does this mean the property is on a EO line? Thus fibre not available?

Looks like it is although some on that postcode are through a cabinet.

Use the BT postcode checker, just put that in and submit, you will get a list of properties.Try the, one by one.

It looks like an EO line. There seems to be a lot of them in Sheringham

There appears to be a new Cabinet P20, installed as part of the BDUK Norfolk rollout, which should hopefully deal with the majority of EO lines in the area.

Thought I would say some EO Lines do get FTTP, but most of the time they either get moved to a near existing cabinet, or they just install a new one.

Please note that these speeds are using BT's DSL Checker and uses the lowest and highest values for that postcode and cabinet.

Going by that information along with other information that I gather it seems that your EO Line along with loads of other EO Lines will be moved over to a new Cabinet 20, when this will go live I don't know, could be June to December, or maybe sooner.

I used my Fibre Checker Application, that retrieves information from online sources and uses the BT DSL Checker for the speed and to confirm some of the info got from other the places.

As for knowing that your EO line will be moved to cabinet 20 that's simple.

It says your postcode is covered by cabinet 1 (6%), and cabinet 20 (93%) and EO Lines (93%)
See that 93% are still EO Lines along with 93% for cabinet 20, that is saying that the remaining 93% of the EO Lines are moving over to cabinet 20.

I don't know exactly where it is located but would imagine it is somewhere near the exchange building.
