I don't think they would say that they are not, if they have already blown in the actual fibre it would seem a waste of money to just to pull up all the fibre etc.

Well I assume it's there. The message saying it's taking longer than usual wouldn't be there otherwise? I know it's has power I have heard it humming

Both BT and super fast have replied to me and say it'd being replaced but won't be ready until end of October which is the same day my A&A contract is up

So perfect timing although not sure why it would take so long

Planning Permission for the cabinet, the laying of fibre (if cabinet is placed in a different location) and also power.
Also the different teams maybe busy and their next free slot could be 3 weeks from now, the fibre from the corner pit/chamber to the cabinet may even need to be replaced due to the fibre could of been fractured.

Also the scheduling of the different teams might also add delays and "could" be like the following:
  1. Get Electric Company to cut power.
  2. Get BT Engineer to disconnect copper lines and fibre.
  3. Get Installers to remove cabinet.
  4. (skip if in same location) Get roadworks to fill in old pit and dig new pit.
  5. Get installers to install new cabinet in its old or new location.
  6. Get BT Engineer to connect up all fibre and copper bridge.
  7. Get Electrical Company to connect power.
  8. Do loads of tests.
  9. Go Live.
The time is getting all the different teams allocated to the job, which is why you see some cabinets just sitting there with nothing done to it for ages.

We have the same with our brand new PCP Cabinet which is located a couple of feet away from our old PCP Cabinet, TBH I am not even sure if BT have done anything with it yet.

So that's why it can take a while to go from being installed to going live.

BT told me 30th October was now the RFS date. I don't believe the one on the website.

Ah, I say pick a date between the both and hope for that.
BT could just being cautious just in case of delays etc, so end of October could be the worse case date.
