I am with AAISP and they are great but the 200GB a month is to limiting on FTTC. You can have 300GB for extra. They don't count upload.
Ouch, you can easily go over that even if downloading on a 80Mbps downstream for say 12 mins a day for 30 days and you have reached about 216GB usage frown

Paul

Yes they are also very expensive. I did look at Zen but they wanted less than AAISP did for a line and for activation etc for ADSL

We use to have Zen here on our second line, but brother took the broadband with him when he moved out.
Zen Support are very nice and helpful.

Static IP on Plusnet residential fibre is a one-off £5 charge.

Any thoughts about Pulse8 or Idnet? Service versus costs.

I have used a fair amount of ISP's over the years, BT, Freeola, Entanet, AOL, IDnet & forgotten most in reality.

Zen for me have been the most consistent as they offer a fair price for the current products they offer.
Unfortunately for me Zen have no PoP at my exchange so I am reliant on the BTW back-haul dinosaur infrastructure. Most independent isp do.. unless LLU.

Customer services are beyond reproach, they will back you 100% once they have identified a problem.

Pay your money & take your chances as no doubt every isp will have the haters.

For rock solid reliability and UK based non script readers support staff then I wouldn't go past them TBH

You can get a lot lot cheaper with honeymoon offers '6 months free' blah blah but I personally prefer not trying to spell my name to someone that cant speaky englush.......

Obviously Pulse8 are a bit special because of their rolling contract, you don't have much to lose in trying them out. Pulse8 use the TalkTalk network. IDNet seem to be fairly standard(though they have native IPv6), they are apparently(?) also one of the first users of the Zen wholesale network.

thanks for your input appreciated

I must say I have been in touch with Aquiss by email to Martin Pitt
its got to be said I am very impressed with his help and reply time Just waiting on a couple more bits of information before I decide which ISP to choose

Just got a email back from Adam Fullalove pulse8broadband because of new rules start on the 1st june to make it more straight forward to move ISP there might not be any migration charge or fibre re-activation charge to Join them should know on tue

so I would say Im down to 3 ISP

Zen
Aquiss
Pulse8
