That looks more like a G.INP interleaving setting to me.

FTTC starts with depth in the 100s, and with 8ms as the initial delay setting.

Thank you for the reply Robertos

I was thinking that G.IMP may have been activated as well, I wonder how long it will take for the interleaving to go back to fast. As I stated before there are no internet errors showing.

I've never seen a G.INP Interleave setting that is not a power of 2.

It's hard to tell what is really going on, as you only have a subset of the stats. But from all the stats from unlocked HG612s it looks as though G.INP, (not G.IMP), is wholly beneficial, and I don't think I have seen any with "Fast path".

Notice that now G.INP is on, Bearer 0 which is the prime data channel has interleaving depth at 8, and the Delay setting is zero. That setting on normal FTTC interleaving is a minimum of 8ms, and goes straight onto your latency. Possibly in both directions.

The speed reduction due to interleaving is now generally more than removed.

Hi Robertos

Yep my pings have gone back to what they were when fttc first activated (pinging bbc under 10 ms) , my speeds are lower but I must not grumble about that as I am lucky to be getting the speed I have.

Really appreciate your advice on this, it all makes sense to me now smile

Isn't it strange that the original statistics show a downstream noise margin of 6dB, but manages to give an attainable speed of 10Mbps above the actual speed.

I personally believe DLM does something other than tinker around with the noise margin (like it does on ADSL products).
Over the past year; I've seen DLM affect my connection speed (originally it was at max for an 80Mbps connection, then it dropped to around 53Mbps before gradually stepping up - it's currently around 70Mbps).
Throughout; the noise margin has been 6dB, yet the connection speed and attainable rate have gradually increased as my connection speed has stepped up (still not back to full speed).
Regardless of the connection speed and attainable rate, the margin seems constant at 6dB.

I'm wondering if the changes to connection speed are achieved by a mechanism different to just changing the target margin?

True; but a 30Mbps swing in connection speed just using interleaving and G.INP, with the margin staying at 6dB???
