As part of the unlock process, you assign a static IP address to your network card, connect the modem via LAN2 and then browse to the IP address that you assume the modem has.

I'm asking what IP addresses have been assigned to the LAN card and what IP addresses have been assumed to be on the modem?

Ah, right . My suggestion is also a possibility though.

I assumed (possibly wrongly) that it would default to 192.168.1.1 which doesn't work and also 172.16.12.10 which doesn't work.

Didn't think about trying others.. mainly since I didn't ask it to be a specific value... any ideas ?

What did you set your PC network card to in those cases? 192.168.1.xxx or 172.16.12.xxx ?

I am wondering if when connected, you open a CMD window and then try ARP -a ...... not saying it will work but maybe worth a try.

Please give a link to where you got the SP08 firmware, and if there is a choice there tell us exactly which one you chose.

I tried both the Unlocked and Original versions.

Well I tried both.. 192.168.1.xx and 172.etc just in case.

I'll have to have a look whats in the ARP cache again when I try and flash the Modem.

You need the WEBGUI version.

Did you do this?

1. Power off the modem.
2. Connect your PC directly to the LAN2 socket.
3. Configure the ethernet NIC of your PC with IP address 192.168.1.100
4. Press the RESET button on the modem and keep it pressed.
5. Do not release the button yet.
6. Power on the modem.
7. Keep the RESET button pressed for a further five seconds.
8. Use your browser to visit the modem's web address http://192.168.1.1/

Yup.. as per instructions on the Kitz site (and elsewhere).

That did work originally.. but I can't get it to work now for some reason.
It's like the reset button is broken (although it doesn't look damaged physically)
