Just had a load of emails through from my page monitors which show my cabinet as live so I've just hopped onto the wholesale checker and sure enough it seems to be live.

What has totally thrown me off are the speeds:

Wholesale seem to think my lowest speed (Range B - Low) is 74.4Mbps.

I am 1.5km from the cabinet, how is that even possible?!

I'm assuming this is a mistake in BT's data?

* You take the chance with FTTC and get what you get. If FTTC is enabled on your cabinet then the suggestion is go for it. That said, at 1.5km, it does sound like you may not get 74M as this is normally available for around 600-800m. As I said you get what you get.

Yeah, most houses on the street seem to be estimated 15Mbps, but there are a handful that are estimated 80Mbps. We're all on the same cabinet, can only assume it's a bug.

I was just using the page monitor extension for chrome.

What does your phone line come back with as opposed the address?

Mine was powered up and then some guy came and put white bits in it and said it would be ready in about a week. Was taking orders the next day and I was the first one on.

Exactly the same results strangely.

Engineer has just left, sadly I was right in thinking BT's estimates were rather optimistic for 1500m+.

I'll take that though, just under 20 down and around 4 up - not too shabby for the distance.
