Normally yes.

BT Infinity uses the HomeHub 5 which does the job of VDSL modem and broadband router all in the one box.

The author of the above post is a thinkbroadband staff member. It may not constitute an official statement on behalf of thinkbroadband.

Surely the OP is referring to the engineer installed VDSL modem ?

That had been my first thought, but he said it was before the modem. However, from the later posts he'd confused the modem with the router, so mystery solved,
