Old PCP

If an FTTC cabinet is being installed, if the corresponding PCP cabinet is one of the really old ones, is the outer shell usually (or ever) upgraded in order to complete the upgrade?

(Sorry for the pretty simplistic post, it's pretty late and I'm tired)

Only if need be. Just being old isn't reason to reshell.

mine is the same as the one you linked, it was upgraded in 2011 and is still the same old PCP..

Unless theres reason to re-shell like it falling too bits then they won't bother as it can be more hassle than its worth.

And to be fair that style of PCP is really sturdy and well made so they rarely fall to bits. Sometimes the doors need replacing but that's about it.

Only time they'd reshell is for space reasons. It's often done to fit the FTTC tie pairs in.

ours was the same as that and reshelled. something to do with there not being enough space in that old style cab to connect to it's fibre twin.

Indeed, though they look better when they are painted....

Looks better than mine, and that pic was a few years ago.
