Re: Moving from TalkTalk to who?

He can deal with UK customer service staff by contacting @BTCare on Twitter - online chat/e-mail and they actually ring you up all the way from Northern Ireland(Enniskillen). If you do get put through to Indian tech support I have been told, by BT, that if you ask to speak to someone in the UK they have to put you through.

Good news is that, finally, BT are bringing customer facing staff back from Indian call centres to the UK -

BT has pledged to answer 80 per cent of customer calls in UK call centres by 2016.

The communications service provider, which has over 10 million UK customers, has created over 1,000 new jobs in the UK in order to achieve this goal.

Plans to create hundreds of other customer call centre positions in the UK over the next year are also in place.

Currently 50 per cent of BT calls are answered in the UK.

Another pro for BT is they often provide large cashback and vouchers(£160+£80 in my case - got the £80 voucher inside 2 weeks, expecting £160 cashback within 5 weeks from going live), and you only have a 12 month contract. I'll probably leave BT at the end of 12 months and claim another cashback deal from another provider - unless they make me a great retention offer.

But so far, surprisingly, so good ... tongue

Good support is also highly regarded.
And you stayed with TalkTalk? Hell if you think TT support is good then any ISP will do.

I find TT Business support excellent, Warrington based & manned by ex-Zen support staff smile

OP,
If you want the 80/20 service, your best option would be Sky Fibre Pro but this would cost > £50 pm incl anytime calls. Another decent option appears to be Vodafone Fibre which seems to be getting glowing reviews - apparently they have multiple 10gb/s links where they have their own backhaul links at exchanges (ex C&W LLU) instead of the usual 1 gb/s favoured by talktalk & sky LLU.

Otherwise if you're looking for a cheap as chips option then BT is your best bet but with offshore support of course on a par with TTR (if not worse).

I won't be going with any company that has TalkTalk attached to it. They've shown multiple times that they don't give a [censored] about their customers.

I seem to be able to get Sky Fibre but not Sky Broadband LLU which makes sense as there is no Sky LLU in my exchange. How then, can I get Sky Fibre?

Perhaps your fibre cabinet is not connected to your local exchange but instead goes to a bigger exchange which has Sky LLU backhaul? That would explain why you can get Sky Fibre but not Sky ADSL2+.

you couldn't as they only provide via their LLU kit, it maybe that the fibre link from the street cab goes to a different exchange that has sky llu
Therefore they are able to offer FTTC but not ADSL over their own network ,

Rubbish, they will more than likely drop your call

If they are really doing this there is little evidence of it ,

Another pro,for you maybe, but it's paid for by them shafting all their loyal customers ,those cashback's & vouchers and free/half price months and loss leading Sports channels have to be paid for by someone
So they hike line rental prices every year
Also if you have already had FTTC for over 12mths then why would you want to enter into another 12mth or longer min term? they also recently increased their activation fee ,and charge this £35 to customers who migrate their FTTC service to them BT openreach charge ISP's £11.00 for such same product /address migrations, just another way that they are screwing customers over
BT is like TT if the bit between your home to the street cab is free from issues then you will be ok, but it's when you have issues that you have problems, if your internet is down, then phone support is key, bt and tt are very poor in this area

Rubbish? Then I must have imagined having a 30 minute phone call with BT, where the UK person I was speaking to went off and conferred with colleagues before stating that was the case after I spent some time complaining about Indian call centres.

Little evidence of this happening? You mean apart from being widely reported everywhere ... do keep up.

Yes, £240 for signing up is a pro for me and other people who manage to count without using their fingers. tongue

Every time i have rung bt on 151 India call centre has answered the phone not a British cs agent to be heard anywhere, also they have always had a small amount of British support staff manning the phones it's nothing new, You say that you spoke to an english support agent, lucky you, i bet if you rang them another 100 times over the next few months or weeks, the number of english people answering the phone would be in the minority

£240 might be a good offer to you but people like me are subsidising this [censored]
!!!! and sick of it, so when we leave bt your prices will go up don't get me wrong i don't have an issue with people getting cheap bb, but i do take issue when those providers load their losses onto their loyal customers, ie BT jacking up line rental again and again,
