I've seen the kit installed in a site show house, I'll try and get some photos next time I'm there. The main unit on the wall which I assume was the modem was larger than the FTTC one I've currently, it had rounded edges and was slimmer and the size of a small dinner plate

Reading some of the literature it appears that all that is lost by not have Sky as your ISP is that you can't use Sky's proprietory Powerline protocol and the ability to use the all the Sky TV boxes as repeater/extenders.

So you are thinking about your next address, not your current one smile. That would have made things clearer if we'd known wink.

See the pic in Section 1 at the start of the page linked to in the OP here. Section 2 ECI may also apply. Section 2 Huawei is almost certainly not an ONT, just an FTTC modem.
