From our local cabinet being stood to going live and being able to order on 7th November it was only 19 calendar days. This was a Digital Scotland / BDUK funded cabinet.

It would appear that this is unusually quick so can only guess everything went as planned!

Wow - I wish! smile

I actually emailed Digital Scotland a few days ago and I got a reply today... saying that our postcode is targeted for Spring 2017!!

I hope this is a mistake.

due to people complaining about slipping targets installs Openreach no longer provides times when cabs are going to go live (they just add on 2 years even if the cab is live next week-3 months) you can blame ofcom and the people who had lodged official complaints about slipping times (so openreach don't get fined now they just say its 2 years later)

you can also blame people who don't want the extra green box installing as well in some areas

Of course all this does instead of people complaining about dates slipping, people complain about the lack of information about what's going on in there area. Thugh some Local Authorities give out more information than others.

it is annoying still

i nearly had a lease line installed (fiber 100/100 set to 10/10) due to lack of information about it (thats £510 ish with Vat A Month for a 10/10) i was trying to get the other 3 companies at the big unit to pitch in (as one of them went down the route of using a 4xADSL lines in bonding mode, daft thing is it properly costing them as much as a 10/10 leaseline)

3 months later i noticed that the FTTC cab was installed at the other end of the road and i rechecked and it was now available 4 months before it was not available, they had actually connected the lease line fiber up as they had the big head end fiber out of the 4 BT man holes covers to blow the fiber down from the tube form the exchange i assume (even though we had not agreed to it yet, we never plugged in the cisco router as i assumed that would of been accepting the contract, nothing ever came from it and BT need to to pick up the cisco router as Probably costs more then my car)

the business team would not even tell me when the area was going to get it and even said it was unlikely to get it due to been on the other side of the dual carriageway to this industrial estate (most the units had dark fiber cables in them mostly for ISDN50 or lease lines 100/100)

they now got 40/10 service on FTTC, 70-80 is likely possible as its not far away but they just went form 0.7/1 to flat 40/10 (Yes the download was slower then upload) and they are now happy
