What worried me is the statement in the OP:-

I expect it is also throughput speed rather than connection, so things may be a little better than that.
Assuming the worst, I would expect the aggregation point to be a similar distance. The bog-standard installation fee for such a distance would be several thousand. Up to 199m is £1100, 200-399m £1800, 400-599m £2500, 600-799m £3200, 800-999m £3900, 1000-1499m £5125 and 1500-1999m £6875. Above that POA. All plus Vat.
Then there needs to be a survey I expect, which could result in refusal or maybe even higher costs.
The indispensable man or woman passes from the scene, and what happens next is more or less the same thing as was happening before.
