Exchanges that have had FTTPoD available for ages still show it, and never stopped doing so. It didn't change when Openreach stopped taking orders for it. I'm not sure it means anything if it shows on the lists you see.

Openreach didn't stop taking orders for it BTWholesale did.

OK.

The indispensable man or woman passes from the scene, and what happens next is more or less the same thing as was happening before.
My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - AAISP Home::1 80/20. Sync 59997/15142kbps @ 600m. - BQM

Which implies you can still order it from ISP's who deal with Openreach directly and not BT Wholesale.

The page http://www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/where-and-when/ has now been updated to show what stage your cabinet is at and provide a little more information such as cabinet number etc.

Handy for those wanting to know a bit more information without having to scan the debugging tool wink

Me, looks over shoulder tongue

Well I have used an application that I wrote a little while back, so I don't need to view via the debug tool, which in my case is cool due to less bandwidth that I am using up on my already slow connection, but if they start to add new features and fix the bugs etc I will probably end up using their page.

They just need to sort out the cookies and token issue that results in a continuous loop of the cogs/blue spinning rings, this is due to the page not handling the badreferer error.
This issue happens when checking either different address or phone numbers with a few minutes gap between lookups.

Like I have already said, I think speeds will be the next nice addition, due to that information has recently appeared.

But its looking good so far.

One last thing if BT Openreach is reading this...
Please remove the cabinet reference from the stage part, like for example.
Cabinet status: Please check the cabinet fibre journey above
It would make more sense it saying.
Fibre status: Please check the fibre journey above
Granted it makes sense if everyone is put on FTTC, but it makes no sense when it keeps referencing a cabinet if its FTTP.

They are already doing parts of it for the following:

[FTTC]
Great news, you can order a fibre service. Please get in touch with your service provider.
[FTTP]
Great news, you can get Superfast fibre directly to your home. Please get in touch with your service provider for more details.

Also "Cabinet Fibre Journey" should be worded just "Fibre Journey" it suits both FTTC and FTTP.

Refresh the page due to it needs to use cookies to work and this glitches out now and then, so its probably a cookie issue, I get that from time to time.

Thanks Paul, I did have a look in at work anyway - now it's.......

We're working with government and industry to explore ways to bring Superfast fibre to as many people as possible but don't have a plan for your area yet. You might consider co-funding fibre access in your community.

...aka we're waiting for someone else to pay for it as we don't think 200 homes is viable (maybe if all the virgin customers in the area had a decent option for a faster internet - >2-5mb then maybe they might get a few more customers /rant)

Current on Zen, getting around 5mb down - .8mb up
Exchange is Fibre enabled, Cab not economically viable to upgrade - though 'Now Exploring Solutions aka we want someone else to pay for it.'

"You can't order a fibre service today but typically it'll be available to your premises within the next nine months."

Given it was due in 2010 and they still haven't done anything, I won't hold my breath.

Hey All

Just thought I would say that BT Openreach have updated they Where and when page once again to also include more info like what stage your rollout is at, along with what technology that its using (FTTC, FTTP, etc) which is great.

Now whether they already had plans to do this which is probably the case, or it was due to I was telling people that info was there, who knows.
But my guesses is they had plans, which was why over the last several months the JSON serialised string that is returned has changed a few times.

And if your wondering what each stage means, then read this.

And if you are all wondering, no they still don't have any dates displayed.

But, at least this is better than saying yes or no to fibre is ready, now you can see what stage it is currently at.

Paul

Rather poor by openreach because why they didn't do this in the first place a few years ago and why now because it almost completed roll out of FTTC. What a pity by BT Openreach to release this!

You mean they should have done it earlier? That's not a reason to complain they've done it now.

Incorrect information showing for me in a BDUK area... Starcross Exchange, CAB 1.

Openreach shows exploring solutions.

Connecting Devon & Somerset shows due by April 2016.

The FTTC Cab has recently appeared near the existing Cab, but looks like the exchange hasn't been upgraded yet...
