I queried a similar situation (exploring solutions) for our development where we funded our own cab and contracts had been signed, and requested that a more helpful and informative message be displayed. The reply I received, in part was:
... really difficult to be able to show the information on the When and where, as Cabs that are community funded are not advertised in the public domain until the cabs are actually live nor shown on the availability checker
I wonder whether the same is true for some BDUK funded upgrades where often the information is available via the local BDUK web site.

Fibre cabinets can be installed along side the PCP work, it doesn't have to wait for the PCP Cabinet to be completed first, so this could still be correct.
In their description for connect, it states The physical build is now completed - despite it still in their plans to upgrade the PCP.

We're working with government and industry to explore ways to bring Superfast fibre to as many people as possible but don't have a plan for your area yet. You might consider co-funding fibre access in your community.
Yet quite clearly there is a coild of cable marked FTTP tied to the telegraph pole that services where I live and other poles already have this cable attached to a fibre manifold. So despite what the site is saying visual evidence points towards FTTP. for my area.

Once again, this info is just for the fibre side of things, when its at the connect stage the actual building of the fibre cabinet has completed.
Once the work on your PCP cabinet has completed it will get connected up to its fibre cabinet and the fibre stage will/should continue.

So despite what the site is saying visual evidence points towards FTTP. for my area. Well I am in the same stage, we are down as FTTP and have had all the FTTP hardware since end of 2011 and we are still at stage 1, this could be all down to our records being fubar according to BT which they are looking into now.
But I am not really sure how the Where and when page would work with FTTP, I know its working fine for FTTC due to they update the database as they progress through the stages, however with FTTP I have seen it down as stage 1 one week and stage 8 the next, either that or it progressed through the stages very quick in one week.
So I am saying FTTP might only have stages 1 and 8.
I am not the only one like this on our exchange, there is over 12K lines over 676 postcodes using 35 cabinets that are also down as FTTP and has also been since 2011-2012 and its all the FTTP that are still waiting to be done as the FTTP Commercial Project, that's over half our exchange are still waiting for their FTTP to be completed.
Now whether all these are down to the same issue with their records as ours is, its a good possibility due to they was all down as being done at the same time, so its possible.

True and they are looking to FTTP information in the furutre buried away in the FAQ's. But at the very minimum they could at least have put up saying
Unfortunatly as you area is down to recieve FTTP and not FTT C we are unable to provide you with any further information at this time.
Instead of bascially say we are still looking at how to bring fibre to your area, when I can see work being done seemingly to bring fibre to my area. Now as I have an interest in fibre I know what to look for what about the average person who doesn't know what to look for in the case of FTTP one way leaves people frustrated they are being left behind whilst the other doesn't.

Well when at stage 1 their information might not have the technology type set, so it doesn't know if its FTTC or FTTP, you would think it would but obviously it doesn't.
But yeah, when it says " We're working with government and industry to explore ways to bring Superfast fibre to as many people as possible but don't have a plan for your area yet. You might consider co-funding fibre access in your community.", where like you said seeing fibre work happening, like throughout July 2015 we had a few of their fibre engineers down our road replacing fibre cables, where I was told the original cables was fine and they have no clue why they are having to replace them, and then we had a fibre splicer engineer splicing fibres etc, so to me we shouldn't be down as stage 1 but should be stage 5 or 6 at least, but maybe FTTP is rolled out differently than FTTC in its stages, I know all the information for all the stages are all FTTC based.
But then again according to BT they have potential issues with our records, what ever that means, but that's going to take a few weeks to resolve, so hopefully then will I know what's going on, maybe that's our hold up.
But yeah, the Where and when page needs to be generic and specific information if the technology is known.

Sorry to bring up this old thread however looks like the Openreach Where and When Map has been updated to give more realistic RFS estimates for those areas having FTTP. Also the fibre stages now work for FTTP too.

Only for those in Wales
Nope, new look works for London, here is a screenshot using our phone number...
Looks a lot better.
This is version 1.2 that they are using and it also seems to be using bootstrap (i.e. for the JavaScript and CSS etc)
Also seems that they have added a few more bits of information in the returned JSON formatted data.
Like:
"journeystage_fttp":8,
"journeystage_fttp_ecd":"",
"journeystage_fttp_ecd_raw":"",
They are still not using the dueby field yet.
