Obviously cannot be sure what they actually did for the restart, but they had some control remotely to restart things.

Yes there is a working re-boot button under > Maintenance > Device > Reset > 'Please click the Reboot button to reboot the device'.

Out of interest about your 'ubiquiti link ' how far does the link go ?, is it a good solid link all the time ?., What model / spec is it ?.

Well I fitted the ECI modem to satisfy Zen/OR and it has reduced my Sync speed by 7Mb (according to my most recent BTW TAP3 test) to what my Billion was syncing at.

If I have to keep an Openreach modem on the line, I'll definitely be trying a Huawei HG612!

My Ubiquiti link is only about 5km but depending on equipment used they can go much further. I am using a pair of Nanobeam NBE-5AC-19's and they have proven to provide a rock solid connection 24/7 even in heavy rain and gales and sub zero temperatures, so far they have worked great for me.

Forgot to say ... added latency over my wireless link is typically about 2ms. i.e. negligible

Fitting my OR ECI modem added 5ms to 8ms over the Billion it replaced!

Is this because you are connected to a Huawei cab but the ECI modem doesn't support G.INP?

Huawei HG612 purchased from ebay for £21 and unlocked.
Reboot button in GUI works fine. Hopefully the Huawei restores the performance lost when using the ECI modem.

Also got an Orbivo wifi socket and found a neat perl script that allows the socket to be queried and controlled easily from wired devices on same subnet as the socket so it works great to power cycle items remotely.

I get my HG612's off 'Freecycle'

What internet connection are you using ?. ADSL or FTTC etc ?
