New to think broadband and hoping i am in the correct forum.
Presently i have cable entering house loft via the gable end of the bungalow.... the cable then travels to the opposite end of the loft and connects to the internal daisy chained circuit which has 4 outlet sockets.
When fibre was installed the master socket was placed on the second socket in the chain.
Everything works fine yet i now wish for the cable to enter the house directly into the lounge and the internal circuit to be made obsolete.
The openreach cable can be easily pulled back out of the loft and the cable then re-routed around the outside of the house and into the lounge just above the damp course level. It may be that the cable could be approx ten feet short and therefore need an external connection box.
Question.... is an external connection feasible ? All that would be required of the openreach engineer would be to fasten the cable to the outside wall , about 45 feet in length and also move the master socket to the lounge wall..... and connect etc . I already have the openreach box and isp router. I could myself help by drilling the hole through the lounge wall........ Any idea what i would be charged for the cable move and any parts used ? Assume i would request the work via my present ISP .
