You need to dig out the connection speed, attenuation and noise margin figures from the modem, probably just a case of an increased target noise margin to cope with a change in local noise levels.

Correct me if i am wrong but I can't find much info on the Home Hub 4. I found this in the logs...

12:27:00, 05 Feb. DSL Link Up: Down Rate=9722Kbps, Up Rate=1192Kbps; SNR Margin Down=5.4dB, Up=6.5dB

The above is prior to the new cabinets being installed

10:21:29, 17 Mar. DSL Link Up: Down Rate=4540Kbps, Up Rate=1173Kbps; SNR Margin Down=7.0dB, Up=6.4dB

Now as you can see from the above, this is AFTER the new cabinets have been installed

What do you think would cause the speed to basically half?

HH4 does not display the attenuation figure.

Presume a telephone still works on the line? Any work in a street cabinet carries a risk of disturbing lines, usually things are fine, but it may be your line got disturbed.

No problems with phone line at all. All seems very odd coupled with the used to show cabinet 15 now showing EO.

Hi Andrew

I also got in contact with our Better Broadband project leader for our county - they contacted BT today and said there was an error with the database which has been corrected. I can now happily say I have ordered Infinity!

Thanks for your help with this

This case can be closed!

Jamie
