I would avoid Sky! As my mate used to be with Sky and always had problem with them. They doesn't seem care to get it fix, all they care is money!

As for Plusnet, things are getting better and better now. smile

I don't remember ever seeing multiple forum threads regarding this...

My experiences of Sky have been the opposite of this... Sky seems to have a much more stable connection compared to other providers... That's across 3 connections on three different exchanges and lines...

As for Plusnet, I'm sure things are getting better, however how would you know, you've always said Plusnet's been rock solid for you.... are you telling porkies???

it's also a shame this guy don't seem to be part of this "Getting Better" you speak of frown

This is because of Plusnet limit his line capped to ADSL2+ not VDSL, as the current line speed should be set at 78Mb not 21Mb. It's just a slightly mistaken by PN 's end. It's shouldn't has happen in the first place!

Plusnet do not throttle!

That isn't what Plusnet say:
we would prioritise traffic on our network

However Virgin say:
you can download as much as you like without worrying about traffic management slowing you down.

and there you go then, I rest my case...

Plusnet limiting line capability...

To be fair, since FTTC activated in Feb 2014, I never seen any slow down in my downoading speed always at 8.8Mb/s all day, all night. So, what is the seem problem?

Also I thought your connection synced at max rate???

I think Plusnet's stealing 5Mbit/s from you, you should be getting around 9.3MB/s based on 74.8Mb/s but from your 8.8MB/s your only getting 70.4Mb/s blush

Also cheers for your message:
When my Plusnet contract is ended soon, then I will switch my FTTC to Sky Fibre Pro because I do have excellent bargain with full bundles sky tv with family/sports/movies and HD pack with multiscreen at 75% off for 12 months with 2 boxes of 2TB Sky+ HD boxes.

I believed that Sky want to change Sky UFO Fiber in all areas soon. Sky had enough with BT Wholesale and BT Openreach. https://www.ultrafibreoptic.co.uk/

But why would you want to switch to Sky... they're terrible aren't they???

Yes, But I think it's wrong to discourage somebody from a provider and seemingly encourage them to join a provider with a rather distasteful 'recent' history when your happy enough to move to that provider even after suggesting they should be avoided.
