yeah when I signed up the guy was begging me to order 40/10 instead. Sky for whatever reason are acting like the 80/20 is a hindrance to them. But this product they dont want to sell is one of the best on the consumer market.
I wonder if they are concerned about their network becoming too congested? It just seems mad that they aren't promoting this a little harder. On their main Fibre page, its below the eye line - I mean you have to scroll down to see it.
I get that the average consumer possibly doesn't require this - but on the other hand - the likes of BT and Virgin are quite forward with the various speed packages they offer.
I have had a quick lurk around the Sky Pro Support forum. The guys on there actually seemed pretty switched on. Are some of them ex O2 support employees maybe?
I've ran the test again and I'm downloading 75 MB with 18.5 MB uploads. I assume I must be around 500 meters or so from the cabinet based on this chart (http://www.increasebroadbandspeed.co.uk/2013/chart-bt-fttc-vdsl2-speed-against-distance)
Think broadband tested is showing 74.8 download and 18.5 upload - so I'm happy with what I am paying for
