So if you sign up to 'Faster Broadband' is this still technically VDSL without the promise of infinity?

Is 5-9mbps an improvement on what you have now?

Yes it's still VDSL but the speed estimate is less than 15Mbps

As quoted in the original post I'm getting about 3mb from a range quoted of 1.5 to 3.5 so good for the area. (Lots of neighbours down in the 1.5 range.) So 5-9 is potentially 2-3 times faster but still not "Superfast". Can't see anything being done to PCB 6 as its been upgraded already so its the distance that appears to be the problem. Doing something to SCP 6/1 seems to be only option to get Infinity?]

(You've got a "]" missing at the end of your quote - can edit for up to 12 hours. Ah - I see it is at the end smile).

Infinity is purely a BT Retail product, only open to customers with estimates of 15Mbps or above. Below that BT call it "Faster broadband with Fibre".

All other companies that provide FTTC/VDSL2 provide it as low as 5Mbps I think. Maybe even BT go that low. At the beginning IIRC some went as low as 2Mpbs. Which for customers getting far less than that on ADSL was worth taking. 2Mbps was still useful in those days as all the catchup and streaming services were either not in existence or very low takeup.

Kindness isn't going to cure the world of all its awfulness but it's a good place to begin. Daisy Ridley.
