FTTC Line Stat info needed.

Hi all, some advice needed.

What do the line stats normally look like like on a fttc line, like the one below.
I will check them before going any further. Thanks

My sis in law used to get over 70 Mbps but for the last 6 months at least she is getting about 20/20 up/down.

She has the 80/20 product.

She changed isp and the bandwidth stayed the same.
I am suspecting it may be her internal cabling, so i will pop round soon and unplug the bottom of the nte5 if she has one and run a test.

If she does not have one, i was going to connect to the connection point outside her house and see what speeds she gets when excluding all the internal cabling.

If it is good to the connection outside the house, i may run a new cable or call the isp and say the fault is with the cabling to the main master socket.

Do BT now charge if the fault is with any of the internal cabling or is it still a free callout if the fault is anywhere on their network, including up to the nte ?

First step is to find out what speeds the existing modem is connecting at, and the attenuation and noise margin figures.

NOTE: Fiddling with the wiring at the 'connection point' outside the house is the remit of Openreach and if you break something or engineers feel you've fiddled and this may be the cause a charge for repair work will be raised.

Totally understand about the openreach kit. I've got the correct tools for job and had years of experience (a very long time ago).

Due to having only adsl in the past, they are the only stats i am familiar with.

I will go and check the sync speed and take it from there.

U are not allow to touch any openreach with the wiring at the 'connection point' outside the house, no matter if you have any tools with experience. You're have been warned!
