Hi, did they say they would move your EO line? As when "we" got FTTC I could not get it as I'm on an EO line and they refused to move me and I'm still on an EO line with no sign of any change, so I would be interested on how you managed it so I can copy you lol
My only plus is I get 20+Mb down but I miss the upload of the fibre.
My worry is there are smoke signals of a new cheaper fibre becoming available with 20/1 which I already have but not fibre which makes it even less likely for me to get a decent upload...except move house lol.

Not at all, I have zero information, I can't find anyone to speak to! Apart from what the guys here have said.

Copper line re-arrangment isn't unusual for EO lines. Loads of that has happened round here and probably also in this case will be re-routed to a new PCP (with a linked DSLAM) or combo cabinet.

Edit: In terms of the BDUK/SEP programmes then this model/solution seems to be used where a medium-large cluster of EO properties are within distance to benefit from FTTC/VDSLx. Otherwise another cost effective model/solution may have to be considered for example FTTP, FTTRN, and so forth.

The council teams have probably had the social media element closed, i.e. budget cuts and thus no-one to answer, and in some counties they have been pestered to the extent that they give up

Depends on what you mean by 'when we got FTTC', some EO areas see all lines upgraded at once and for others it takes two or three cabinets due to the volume, given a postcode usually can get an idea of what is going on, and if it looks like a mistake have pestered to get checkers fixed so people can order - though that is more common in FTTP areas.

The 18/1 GEA-FTTC service on the way, is intended for long lines, so am wondering if you have been enabled for VDSL2 but are a long way from the cabinet - which does happen and is something looked at once I know a postcode.

Sorry, I mean the town's got a few cabinets now and for example my mother 2 miles from me got FTTC appx 18 months ago....I'm close to the exchange and on sync on ADSL2 at the exchange at 21Mb,

Outside my house has traffic control and down to one lane as one side is all dug up, there's usually at least 5 BTO van's/trucks there so I went out and asked and the supervisor said he doubts it as we are so close to the exchange and I'm on an EO line. He knew I was EO line without me mentioning it. I asked Sky and they said no plans to be FTTC enabled, well at least their BB is free.

The cabinet now has a number, "2". I wonder if I can find any more information about the cabinet, missed the engineer by seconds today :|

All I can see is that's a small exchange only supporting ~ 330 lines.

I can see that "some" EO Lines can order FTTP.

I can also see that cabinet 2 is down for July 2017 and its being done by BDUK H&G.

That's about all I can see.
