don't think your information is quite correct -- I think it was enabled as part of the BDUK government programme and the housing estate are just lucky that the cab was enabled by part of the Government project
Yeah, heard about all of that - I was just watching the cabinet's progress at is happened, that's all. I knew it was probably initially going to be down for "No fibre because of business", and that's indeed what happened. I've just looked on codelook and seen that it's listed as going live as part of BDUK phase 10a, like one other cabinet off the exchange, which serves a small village about 2/3 miles away. That also is an ECI cabinet.
Strange, all of the other BDUK and superfast extension programme-enabled cabinets (and two FTTrN nodes) are Huawei. I can see that those two mentioned above went live in 2013, but PCP 7's fibre twin almost certainly got installed in 2012, along with several other commercial-rollout cabinets, I think with PCPs 1 and 15. They did the first 6 here in sets of three, a couple of months apart, the others are all listed as "Phase 08a" (like mine, PCP3). The massively delayed cabinet I was talking about was PCP5's twin, it's now down as being "phase 16a", and labelled "FTTC being Connected, live due by May 2016", but was originally set to go live in 2012. It's an ECI cabinet which has been there for... er, ages.
