Agreed

Bringing about the apparent "monopoly" of Virgin.

And also demonstrating that it would extremely expensive and very long term to establish a completely new communications network with connections "readily" available to every potential customer, from beyond Land's End to beyond John o' Groats.

Fault still showing as with BT Retail Servers on the fault tracker. Does anyone know what that actually means, and whether they will do anything? Fed up hanging on the telephone, and getting cut off. Will try to get a call back from them again this evening.

Heading for 4 weeks of complete inactivity from BT. Who do I complain to?

MGJ presuming Gavin Patterson still works for BT Group you could try e-mailing him, or Libby Barr who is the Retail MD. Check here for their e-mail address'. I have heard that contacting them has worked for some in the past...

I am sure others can make suggestions as well

That suggestion seems to have worked. A polite reply from their Executive Team promising to look into it. It really shouldn't have to get to that level to get it sorted.

It really beggars belief that it takes that much, but sometimes it's best to escalate it and I can't see BT Retail wanting to escalate it via the phone.....

Engineer coming tomorrow. Very helpful team. This does (sadly) seem the way to go. Will update when its installed, but hopeful.

Engineer arrived this morning, all installed, and I have 79.99 down and 20.00 up. Given the distance from the cabinet (50 feet) he wasn't surprised.

Great result. Thanks for all the advice, and taking it to BT senior management after giving the normal channels a chance to fix it, being polite and clear, seems to work wonders and is to be recommended.
