Just received an email from Sky informing me that an engineer has been booked for Wednesday. Strange when the original fault has been repaired and the only problem which exists is my speed of which I've lost approx 2mb which I'm not sure justifies a BTO Engineer :/

Sky stated;

"I have had a look at the speeds that you are currently getting and this is only sitting at 21mbps where you should be receiving between 22.9 - 33.1mbps, I have therefore booked.........."

I admit I was getting over 25Mb before the fault but my latest sync rate has budged in a week, even after a reset (seems locked). My NM is at 9.3 and stays at that throughout the day and night.

I'm not sure what an engineer can do...

Ah okay. I would have thought it more cost effective to allow ISPs the ability to reset the DLM.

Thanks.

Well if all their tests pass, a DLM reset for starters.

Well maybe if ISP's allowed Openreach to do resets and the like on their kit .......

DLM was reset yesterday, speed improved slightly.

BTO telephoned a central office to get the DLM reset, I wasn't aware this was a remote procedure. I thought an engineer had to physically do this at the exchange.

I was advised to allow a few days for the speed to return. I know this was only done yesterday but no noticeable change as yet.

When my Fibre was first activated, the router would resync during the early hours adjusting the sync rate until the nm reached the set limit. This didn't seem to happen last night.

Anyway, thanks for all your help guys/gals.

Nope, one just dials a number and requests it done.

Nope, it should be instantaneous.
