What did the engineer do about the master socket? Did he fit the interstitial faceplate or are you just using a dangly filter still. AT which socket?

Just a cautionary note. (Or two). Don't mess with it until after midnight Saturday >> Sunday. And even then, during that night you may find you lose some speed. FTTC DLM does its changes during the night, not in flight at any time of day like ADSLx does.

Engineer said he'd never seen an install like that before; its a 15 year old engineer installed extension from the master socket with Cat5 to a RJ-11 port. He left that well alone, and removed the faceplate to do his tests and then put it back. So no dangly filters anywhere.

Speed somewhere around 75 Mbps down and 18 up. No more buffering on iPlayer and 4OD is the main difference I can see.
