Yeh.. hopefully engineer will find something when they attend.

I do need to ask my neighbours if they have similar issue.
(There are only 39 active lines from the AIO)

I was wondering if externally it was better to have a shorter distance to the DP but having more active lines in a 100pair cable or if it was better to have a longer run from DP to the master socket.

I think its something like an 5 or 6 pair they used from house to DP. (Guessing as I haven't checked that at this point).

Yeh.. tell me about it !

When we were looking we were hoping it would have been FTTP, we bought from plan and things hadn't been fully decided at that point. However the good news was that the developer part funded the AIO.

The sad bit is the developments all around us are all FTTP frown but hey, I know there are many worse off.

I will be looking to see if baby_frogmella is successful with the FTTP OD order, if I could order with no install etc then I'll go for that.

Ah.. thanks.

Do you think it would be better to have the DP closer but then from DP to AIO on a large but then longer cable ?
Or not make much difference?
Not that I have much choice, but I know the DP is probably half the distance to the AIO if not more.
Just wondering how noise/cross talk would affect either option differently if at all.

My take on the two stats posts you have made.

Attenuation at 14.6 suggests somewhere around 300m - mine at 16.4dB is around 440m. The line and signal attenuations for D1, D2 and D3 look good and appropriate for the distance.my line has Signal Atten of 40.8dB and Line Atten of 40.9dB which is significantly greater than yours.

Your max attainable is similar to actual.

The SNR margin of 7.1 is a dB higher than standard but not an issue.

It does, to me, point to a VERY noisy line whether it is from cross talk, external noise, a bad/noisy power supply or something in your house causing the problem.

As you have an HG612, can you install DSL stats and then have them uploading to https://www.mydslwebstats.co.uk/ where we can see the various plots.

I don't have a Windows or Linux client lying around at the moment.. frown

What I will do is knock as much electrical items off as I can to isolate any potential noise internally, and then also try with the HH6 I have just to eliminate the HG612.

Will see what I can do tomorrow.

Thanks for the responses.

Include your central heating - pumps can be noisy, heat exchangers and heat pumps, solar panel inverters, fridge/freezers ...

It really is not always as cut and dried as one would like.

Best case scenario would be the one that gave the pair as little proximity to other workers as possible.
