The speed checker concurs with what we're getting:

BT FTTC broadband availability
You are connected to the Benburb telephone exchange.

FTTC is available in your area

Downstream Min: 14 Mbps
Downstream Max: 20 Mbps
Upstream Min: 0.8 Mbps
Upstream Max: 1.2 Mbps


I have the BT Homehub still in it's box. I might change it out and see if that is any better.

Fortunately the chipset in the router is broadcom so it matches, and you've probably got G.INP on.

Which router did BT send?

Whatever the latest Home Hub is - it's about a month ago it arrived. It's a goofy looking big thing, size of a large book.
