The reason for this question originally was to find out if upgrading to the higher bandwidth product would be worthwhile. It looks as if it might be.

You'll have to do some basic telephone wiring 'housekeeping' to get the best of either service, but surely for the faster stuff.

The faster it goes, the fussier it becomes.

I don't think it would be worthwhile upgrading to the higher product as you are not reaching the limits of your current product yet.

These stats don't support the stats you gave in the OP of "SNR is measured as 20.5 and line attenuation is 12.3dB"

The GUI stats on the HG612 are wrong

That's my opinion too.

The modem stats do not appear to have changed, but speed test has gon up close to 40Mbps - just under the synch speed.but will the line support a faster contract?

I've raised a query with Plusnet and will see what they say.
