Why bother offering a "business" service with just a "Guaranteed 12Mbps throughput".

edit: read that wrong.

I'd be pretty annoyed getting 20Mbps on a 330Mbps product and being told tough it's above our guarantee. New tech or not that sounds pretty shady.

It is the main reason I didnt proceed with an FTTPoD connection as even for that the guaranteed minimum was 40Mbps on a 330Mbps connection. Zen offer a throughput guarantee of 60Mbps on my 80/20 FTTC connection.

Thought they'd make a beeline for Cuckoo Oak?

The likely changes to advertising of broadband speeds will impact G.fast from the cabinet quite heavily, which was probably the intention. Looking at the consultation I can easily imagine that G.fast from the cabinet will be scaled back pretty heavily in favour of FTTP and an FTTS/RN solution.

Is there a table anywhere for G.Fast speeds and distance like there is for FTTC?

My house can have FTTPoD of 330/30 product say the isp.

Distance Based Charge Band F £5,250 inc vat
Installation Charge £1,440 inc vat
Monthly Charge £300 inc vat (36 months contract)

Total cost £17,490

After 36 months can revert to cheaper FTTP 330/50 for £119 a month (depend on BT price change in 2020)
